CHEESE, PLEASE!

Okay, run - don't walk to Ospi in Venice!

Y'all know I'm a foodie through and through. So, if I'm putting my stamp of approval on it, just know it's good!

The Crispy Provolone is the perfect start to any Italian meal. It's served with a vodka sauce on the side for dipping, and it's the best combination of crunchy, creamy and salty. 10/10 recommend and I could probably eat this everyday if it wouldn't affect my waistline.

Moving on...

The Caesar salad was different! It had a little more of a mustardy flavor than I like, so I could be biased. I'm not a mustard fan at all, but it was good! Unfortunately for you, I didn't get a picture of that... or the rest of the food. Blame it on the fact that I was already hangry by the time we got sat.

Can't go to any Italian restaurant without getting a pizza and pasta to split, so of course we had to try the Malloreddus pasta, complete with tender chunks of beef cheek. It was pretty rich, so I could only stomach a few bites, but it made for great leftovers! Funny enough- I hated leftovers as a kid, but as an adult I've come to love them. Food actually tastes better to me the longer the flavors have sat and married together.

After the pasta, we got the Copione pizza which had a slightly spicy sopressata on top. Think of a combination between pepperoni and salami. The spice was perfectly balanced by a drizzle of honey and a pinch of red pepper. They gave you the option of ordering your pizza 'Saka' style, which meant you'd have a side of creamy cheese, chili sauce and fresh basil to dip your pizza crust in. It was perfect for the end of that slice when all your toppings have run out. I'm actually mad I never thought of doing this before.

We finished with a 5 oz crab cake, and let me tell you - it was the chef's kiss to the meal. I'm a seafood enthusiast, and this was ALLLLL meat with hardly any breading. That's the only way I want to eat my crab cakes from now on.

Ospi is the perfect little slice of Italy in the middle of Venice Beach.
